Rate – £544.00 per day Umbrella Co OR PAYE equivalent (+ Travel expenses)

Assignment & Duties:
The infrastructure expert will need to have a wide-ranging expert skill set and knowledge base in several specialist areas, including Net Zero Carbon, Modern Methods of Construction, whole life construction, asset management, innovation, strategic management, and industry best practice. This, combined with a good working knowledge and experience of Defence and wider Government contacts, will prove extremely valuable in supporting current deliverables. Equally, the infrastructure expert will need to be pro-active in ensuring knowledge share is on-going to the wider developing team which will be invaluable as the team is fully established.
Core day to day duties:
2. The infrastructure expert will be required to contribute to the delivery of the following:
a. Produce an innovation methodology and process to enable new technology and innovation to be assessed and accepted within DIO in a timely manner
b. Conduct horizon scanning to identify the most promising innovation in the private sector. Collaborate with the construction, property and FM technology sectors to exploit innovative technological solutions.
c. Develop the capability to actively monitor and manage the performance of our assets to ensure they meet the needs of our people
d. Develop the DIO implantation plan to achieve the Green Government Commitment
e. Produce an assurance strategy and implementation plan for assurance of JSP BPS Series.
f. Delivery of objectives in Sustainability Strategy – Deliver an infrastructure net zero and sustainability strategy
g. Continue to drive sustainability in our procurement process and supply chain
h. Undertake annual review of BPS Series to support CC&S challenge.
i. Review, refresh and amend to current industry best practices BPS 0.7 Modern Methods of Construction.
j. Support outputs from five current TSP delivery projects.
k. Delivery of Business Cases for future workstreams
l. Knowledge and skills sharing within the existing team.
1. Specialist technical expertise is needed to support the outputs of a number of developing workstreams and projects arising from Defence Infrastructure plans through to delivery. Evaluation of these outputs will require deep expert knowledge to assure DIO that the products are of suitable quality for adoption by Defence.
2. The contracted infrastructure expert will need to have a wide-ranging expert skill set and knowledge base in several specialist areas, including Net Zero Carbon, Modern Methods of Construction, whole life construction, asset management, innovation, strategic management, and industry best practice. This, combined with a good working knowledge and experience of Defence and wider Government contacts, will prove extremely valuable in supporting current deliverables.
3. The CIT is built around a lean structure comprising a mix of professionals and qualifying professionals. External technical support is needed to bridge the professional/ technical expertise capability gap that DIO is unable to attract and acquire through either permanent recruitment or fixed term appointments.
4. The scope of work being delivered is complex, technical and innovative driving the need for agile technical advisory support to the CIT in scoping technical requirements, ensuring effective VFM contracting of technical support, delivery, assurance of the deliverables and bridging gaps in the intelligent customer role.

– Surge Project Delivery for FMC
– New guidance within the BPS Review Project
– Sustainability design review for ADR Project
– Strategic oversight of Operational Energy Retrofit Policy
– Strategic oversight of a Whole Life Carbon Methodology
k. Delivery of Business Cases for future workstreams
l. Knowledge and skills sharing within the existing CIT team.
