Job Role – Buyer/Planning Administrator
Responsible for purchasing and negotiating materials from vendors
Ensuring suppliers meet their delivery commitments (ASN & PO confirmation), through regular calls and communications
Resolve and delivery delays with the supplier and escalate where support is required
Expedite material when required
o Work with suppliers on reducing Lead Times and improving delivery performance
o Evaluates vendor quotes and services and support to identify the most desirable suppliers
Experience
Min 3 years’ experience in material planning / buyer activities
o Works well under instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
o Works under immediate supervision but is self-motivated
o Ability to identify opportunities for improvement and implement where required
o Strong material expediting experience
o Strong communication and influencing skills
o Manage and resolve conflict
o Experience working across global supply chains ideally in BTS, metals stamping, moulding commodities
o Knowledge of SAP

1. Experience of supporting forecasting and planning teams in a manufacturing environment
2. Confident creating reports in Excel using VLOOKUP and pivots
3. Self-directed and confident to approach colleagues and suppliers to find out what they need to know
4. Self motivated and confident meeting new people
5. Articulate in writing and conversation in person and over ‘phone/email.
6. Experience of expediting orders (pulling in and pushing out) with suppliers
7. Creation of daily report metrics using SAP transaction data
8. SAP administrator with experience of :
a) Goods receipting/booking in
b) PO entry and amendment
c) Invoice and quantity queries
d) ASN creation
e) Generation overdue and PO acknowledgement reports (ZRC_Pursched)
f) Inventory querying – MD04
g) Bill of materials
h) Material masters
Strong material expediting experience
Working with suppliers to resolve delivery constraints across global supply base
