Senior Mechanical Engineer
THE ROLE
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support all the Mechanical Design, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Thermal Analysis (CFD), attend meetings with the Customer, sign off the Mechanical Drawings, liaise with manufacturers and test houses. The work is primarily involved with Integrated Platform Management Systems (IPMS) for Naval Ships & Submarines for the UK MOD Programmes currently being worked on.
HOW YOU WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
As a Senior Mechanical you will be working with other Engineers in different disciplines at a similar level and reporting to the Lead Engineer (Senior Principal Mechanical Engineer) on progress being made, problems arising, resourcing, programme slippage, involved in PDR & CDR during the design phases.
You will be expected to look after CAD Designers at various levels and feed them with work, advise them and check there work prior to sign off.
As a Mechanical Engineer you will be involved in the packaging designs for COT Electronics & Electrical equipment that needs to survive extremes of Environmental Conditions Hot/Cold, Humid, Vibration, Shock ,Ingress, EMC/RFI and assist the design proving prior to PDR & Validation & Verification at CDR as well as liaising with the Customer and manufacturing builds of prototypes to production.

Budgets: Assist in providing a yearly budget to the Chief Mechanical Engineer for submission to Engineering
