Rate – Circa £50.00 per hour OR PAYE equivalent (DOE)
Duration – 12 Months +
Hours – Typically 40 hours per week
Determination – Inside IR35
Security – UK SC Security Clearance to be in place

Job Purpose;
• Prepare fit for purpose cost estimates across all key account areas and project categories that comply with company standards and processes and utilise methodologies appropriate to the project lifecycle stage.
• Ensure all estimates meet the required Class appropriate to the level of scope maturity and estimating methodology applied.
• Prepare fit for purpose cost estimates across all key account areas and project categories that comply with company standards and processes and utilise methodologies appropriate to the project lifecycle stage.
• Liaise as required with engineering and other departments to obtain the necessary inputs required for the timely compilation of cost estimates.
• Ensure an appropriate Basis of Estimate is adequately documented for all cost estimates together with all necessary underpinnings.
• Present and support cost estimates through technical and commercial review process.
• Carry out peer review and benchmarking of cost estimates as required.
• Support and contribute to the collection & compilation of appropriate estimating norms to support the preparation of reliable & defensible cost estimates.
• Train and mentor less experienced staff in processes & tools to ensure cost estimates are prepared in a consistent and standard format across the company.
• Considerable experience in the field of cost estimating, cost engineering or quantity surveying in a relevant industry sector
• Knowledge or experience in the use of commercially available estimating software
• Some experience in collection & analysis of actual costs with respect to developing norm and parametric based estimates
• Some experience in preparation of cost plans and estimates in a multi-disciplinary team environment
Academic Requirements
• Sound knowledge of all industry recognised estimating methodologies
• Awareness of commercial & contractual arrangements
• Awareness of recognised project management & project controls principles
• Awareness of the application of recognised EVM & risk management principles
• Minimum qualification: Level 2 or 3 Diploma in a relevant discipline or ECITB Certificate in Project Controls
Ideally working towards membership of the Association of Cost Engineers (ACostE) or Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS)
